Library
The school’s library cannot be seen as an insignificant school room, infrastructure or equipment. On the contrary, it is a vital organ of the school. It cannot be seen as something disconnected from the school curriculum, but as a vital role in the students’ life and education.
Bearing this in mind, and having as a reference the Programa Rede de Biblioteca Escolares:
Quadro Estratégico 2021-27, it is clear that our purpose is to ensure the school library is:
“(...) a space of collaboration and dialogue, of curiosity, discovery, critical thinking/reflection, projects and initiatives. School libraries will help each and every one to develop their skills and talents, as well as in understanding and respecting collective memory and human rights.”
Thus, students will be able to enjoy effective learning/pedagogical moments, such as storytelling hours, meetings with various authors, debates, creative writing and digital workshops, amongst others, which will allow them to create content in a creative and responsible way, as well as contribute to an active role in their local communities and in the world.
This space is opened from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, with free access to the entire schoolcommunity. This is a space for research (consultation), individual or group assignments/study in a profound silent environment. Students also have access to computers to carry out different types of school work.
